JBF Consignors earn an average of $350 and you can TOO!

• Consignors earn up to 80% on their sold items

  • 60% - base consignor percentage
  • 70% - do at least one shift
  • 80% - do at least one shift and choose to receive your check in JBF bucks to use at a future event. This would be in lieu of a traditional check.
    We will give you the option before checks are sent!

• A $10 fee is taken out of your check, so no upfront fees - yipee!

• Tagging site is ALWAYS open

The Presale will be spread out to promote safe distancing. We will be letting a maximum of 300 people at a time. We know this is very different from our Presale experience in the past so it will take a team effort to make it work well. We ask for your patience as we all adapt to these important, new social distancing measures. 

Consignor shopping day is:
Saturday, August 22 (with one guest)
Thursday, August 27 (Half-Price Presale - no guests). 

After you register as a consignor you will be given instructions in the email confirmation on how to reserve your early shopping time.

Get Involved

Here are the changes for Team Members in regards to covid-19.

  • Team Members are required to complete a simple health questionnaire before starting your shift.

  • Team Members must wear a mask while helping. Please bring one that is comfortable for you. We will also have some available.

  • We will have plastic face shields that can clip to a baseball cap if you are not able to wear a cloth mask. Bring a baseball cap if you would like to wear one of those.

Our team helps with everything from event set up, inspection, organizing merchandise, running our cool point of sale system and breaking down the event.

Shifts are available in 4 hour increments. The more shifts you complete, the earlier you get to shop! The earlier you shop, the more merchandise and bargains to be had!

1. Bring your items tagged, prepped, and sorted by type & size


2. SUPER IMPORTANT:
   Print TWO extra barcode tags to bring with you.
    On the back of the tags write the following:

  • First and Last Name
  • Cell Phone
  • Email Address


You will leave your tags in a designated container at drop off. We will need these tags to check you in since we are doing contactless check in.

To keep everyone safely distanced, we will have a contactless inspection process.  You will leave clothing in our inspection area. Then place your non-clothing items on the sales floor (or take a break). We will text you after your clothes are inspected and ready for you to place on the racks.

Those on the perfect consignor list will receive a specific email the day before drop off. You will show that email to bypass clothing inspection


3. After inspection, you will place all items on the sales floor, so please plan to allow 60-90 minutes for this process depending on how many items you are selling.

 

PICK UP

Sunday, August 30 | 2:30pm-5:30pm

You have a choice! You may donate your unsold items to our charity partner OR pick up your items. If you donate, you will be helping our local community + you will receive a tax slip with your check. 

Pick up is totally painless as ALL items are sorted for you (how cool is that?).  You will be in and out within 15-30 minutes.

If you are unable to pick up, you may arrange for a friend/family member to do so. Make sure that they have your consignor number with them at pick up.

All items not picked up by 5:35pm will be donated.

Baby Equipment/Kid's Furniture

Gather:  Exersaucers, swings, high chairs, changing tables, strollers, bath seats, baby walkers - You get the point!  These items sell GREAT!  We also accept toddler and youth twin beds, dressers and youth desks. Inspect carefully to ensure items have all pieces and are not recalled, stained, or damaged. 

Package: Items should be assembled at the event to ensure that all of the parts are present and functioning. 

Tag:  Attach tag to item with a safety pin or clear packing tape.  Do not use tape on fabric or delicate items.  You can punch a hole in the top of the tag and secure the tag with ribbon or zip ties.  Place a piece of tape on tag before punching a hole. This will reinforce the tag so that it is not torn off your item.

IMPORTANT NOTE:  Extra tags should only be made for large item pieces that can't be easily secured together (do not do this for clothing or small toys).  Place an X over the barcode of the tag with a .00 price, so it is not accidentally scanned.

Blankets

IMPORTANT: WE DO NOT ACCEPT BEDDING SETS OR ROOM DECOR

Gather: 
 Please be selective when selling receiving blankets, sheets, mattress pads, burp cloths, and towels. New and barely used items sell best. Check carefully for stains.  

Package: Secure these items to a hanger. They will be hung under the newborn clothing sections.

Tag:  Attach tag to fabric items with a safety pin.  Do not use tape on fabric or delicate items.  

NOTE: We no longer accept room decor

Books, Games, Boxed Arts & Crafts

Gather:  Books, board games, card games, puzzles, video games, video game systems,  Please only bring kid's books and homeschooling books.

NO pregnancy and child rearing books.  
NO miscellaneous Arts & Crafts (complete boxed sets only).
Games and puzzles must have all pieces. Check items to ensure they are in great condition. 

Package: Use clear zip-loc bags or cling wrap (saran wrap) to hold items together.  DO NOT use tape on puzzles or items that could tear.  Please DO NOT use ribbon to bundle books together as they become separated easily.  Use a clear bag taped securely, for mutiple books.  Or better yet, price books individually.

Tag:  When tagging books, please attach your tag to the book with clear tape that can be removed without damaging the item.  It is helpful to tape the tag over the original barcode.  Do not use tape on fabric or delicate items.

Note: We are no longer accepting DVD's

Car Seats & Car Booster Seats & Cribs

Gather: Car seats and Car Booster Seats that are less than 5 years old.  Check our Safety & Recalls link below for more information.

Package: A fully completed waiver is required for all car/booster seats and CRIBS. Waiver can be printed from HERE.  Attach the waiver to your car seat.

Tag:  Attach tag to item with a safety pin, zip-tie, or clear packing tape.  Do not use tape on fabric or delicate items.  You can punch a hole in the top of the tag and secure the tag with ribbon or zip ties.  Place a piece of tape on tag before punching a hole. This will reinforce the tag so that it is not torn off your item.

Children's Clothing

Gather: Children's clothing Newborn through size 16/18,  Be picky. No stained or damaged items will be accepted.  Please freshly clean your clothing - ironing  attracts more buyers too. Replace missing buttons, sew loose hems and seams, and clip loose threads. Button all buttons, snap all snaps, zip all zippers before you arrive at drop off.  Clothing should be new styles purchased within the last 5 years.

Package: Multi piece clothing items must be safety pinned together through ALL pieces (don't use a tag gun for this). If selling item with an accessory such as a hat/pair of socks, safety pin accessory securely to clothing item.

Price:  The most successful JBF Consignors practice “Shopper-Focused Pricing".  You’re a smart bargain shopper - simply ask, “What price would make me buy this item without hesitation...and brag about it later to a friend?”
We DO NOT have a minimum price rule at the Norman JBF sale. We encourage you to price your items competitively and use our pricing guide as a resource.

Tag Location: Attach tag with a tag gun to the size label in top area  or safety pin to the upper right side. Insert the gun in a size label or inside seam in neck area. Do NOT use tag guns through part of the clothing as this will making a hole and permanently damage your clothing.
PULL on the tag to make sure it is properly secured and will not fall off.  You may also safety pin tag to the upper right side of garment, as you are looking at the item.

DO NOT place tag in arm pit seam or through shirt sleeve seam or bottom of garment, as this makes it difficult for us to scan and sort.  See link above for helpful pictures of tag gun do's and don'ts.

Make sure tags are visible - not tucked inside clothing.

Sort: all clothing by size and gender for an easier drop off.  Rubberband sizes together when transporting.

Note: Sets sell well in smaller sizes. IMPORTANT: Make sure that the sizes are the same (double check!!) and it is best to match the same brand too.
Note: As kids reach the pre-teen sizes (10-16), they are very particular. Clothing must be in excellent condition and very CURRENT style.

NO Junior or adult clothing


 

Sleepers and Onesies

All sleepers and onesies MUST BE ON HANGERS.  NO BAGGED sleepers or onesies.  To prepare, please follow clothing guidelines above.  Inspect sleepers and onesies carefully for spit up stains.

A fabulous stain removal tip from one of our consignors!
Place the following in a spray bottle and apply directly on the stain
1-part Dawn
2-parts hydrogen peroxide

NO Maternity Clothing

We no longer have the space to accept Maternity clothing. We still accept maternity accessories like nursing bras and belly bands.
 

Shoes

Gather: We accept newborn thru big kid's youth size 4. Athletic cleats must be clean and in very good condition.  We also accept dance, tap & ballet shoes.
• Spring and summer shoes and sandals are accepted at the Spring sale.

• Fall and winter shoes and boots are accepted at the Fall sale.

Prepare: Each pair of shoes will go through a strict inspection during consignor drop off. Shoes must be in near perfect condition-JBF is very picky to maintain our excellent reputation.  Shoes do not have to be brand new, but look like new from top to bottom.

Tag: Connect shoes together with zip ties to prevent lost shoes and tags.  Do NOT connect shoes together with a safety pin, except soft shoes with no loops to attach zip ties.  Zip-tie before you arrive to drop off (dollar stores have small zip ties--if you don't have any you can use the ones we have at drop off).

Note: Tags MUST be reinforced by placing a piece of packing tape over the top of the tag, Hole punch the tag in the reinforced tape area, then place the zip tie through the hole and attach the tag to shoes.

Note: Do not place shoes in bags or boxes.

Note: Clean all dirt and debris from shoes, including the bottom and wash them if needed. Magic erasers will remove scuff marks from most shoes. We can NOT accept shoes that look worn, have any sign of dirt, debris or scuff marks. Please don't even go to the trouble to tag them, as we can not accept them.

Toys

Gather: Ride-on toys, block sets, dolls, remote control cars, outdoor toys, learning toys, basically all toys sell like HOT CAKES. Toys must be checked for safety recalls before consigning. As always, inspect carefully to ensure items have all pieces and are not recalled, stained, or damaged.
Clean all toys and baby equipment thoroughly.  Please test to make sure that toys and equipment are working properly. Battery operated toys must include working batteries (these can be purchased inexpensively at dollar stores).
We DO NOT accept stuffed animals. 
We do accept Battery operated animals (like Tickle Me Elmo), Pillow pets, Webkinz and Build-a-Bear.

Package:  Keeping tags and multiple items attached is essential for your items to sell. Bag all small parts belonging to toys in zip-loc bags and tape the bag shut with clear packing tape. Fasten the bag securely to the item with tape or zip ties. Original packaging/boxes is always a plus!

Tag: Attach tag to item with a safety pin, zip-tie, or clear packing tape.  Do not use tape on fabric or delicate items.  You can punch a hole in the top of the tag and secure the tag with ribbon or zip ties.  Place a piece of tape on tag before punching a hole. This will reinforce the tag so that it is not torn off your item.

Miscellaneous/Accessories

Gather: Hats, socks, bows, tights, bibs, cloth diapers, bottles, dinnerware, wash cloths, safety items, nursing supplies,

Package: Small items may be tagged separately or grouped together in zip-loc bags.

Tag: Attach tag to item with a safety pin, zip-tie, or clear packing tape.  Do not use tape on fabric or delicate items.  You can punch a hole in the top of the tag and secure the tag with ribbon or zip ties.  Place a piece of tape on tag before punching a hole. This will reinforce the tag so that it is not torn off your item.

Note: REMEMBER, DO NOT use tape to attach tag to an item that is made of cotton-like material (like a blanket or hat) the tag will fall off!

Hanger/Tag Gun/Safety-Pin 101


Hangers must be PLASTIC tube, department store, or pant clip hangers. NO WIRE hangers.

The hanger hook should point to the left like a question mark
when looking at it.  Hang size 0-6 clothing on child-size hangers and sizes 7-18 on adult-size hangers. Old Navy and department stores are great places to get free hangers (they throw away hangers daily!).  WalMart & Dollar stores sell child-size plastic tube hangers at a great price.

Hanging pants: attach safety pins through the middle of the waist band and to the TOP part of the hanger to ensure that pant will not slide. If you can find them, the best hangers to use for pants are clip hangers like the ones used in department stores. Save them when you shop!

Hanging sets: Most sets can be placed on one hanger. Safety pin thru both clothing pieces AND around the top of hanger (this will prevent pants from weighing down the shirt and causing a possible tear). DO NOT safety pin pants to the bottom of the shirt OR bottom of the hanger. Pants should hang on the outside of the shirt, so both pieces can be viewed easlily. If multiple hangers are needed use rubberbands to attach hangers together.

Remember: Clothing is sold on hangers, so hangers will not be returned to consignor. Unsold clothing will be returned on hangers.

Tag Gun: If you are interested in ordering a tag gun, you can find great deals on ebay. Dennison and Arrow seem to be good brands (get the 2" size barbs). Remember to be very careful when using a tag gun and tag through the size tag or inside lip in the neck area, since we will not accept clothing with holes. Helpful pictures of tag gun do's and don'ts.

Safety pins: Please use 1" or larger safety pins: NO straight pins or small gold safety pins.

Perfect Consignors

PERFECT CONSIGNOR List


We want to reward our consignors who consistently follow the JBF guidelines and bring great items to the sale.

If you have less than three stained, damaged, or unacceptable items pulled at drop off or during the sale, your name will be added to our Perfect Consignor List. This saves you time at Drop Off - we will do a quick spot check of your items rather than inspecting each item - yipee!

IMPORTANT NOTE: Perfect Consignor status will be lost if a RECALLED item is consigned. Remember to check ALL of your items for recalls before preparing them for the sale. There is a great "recall search" tool on the JBF tagging site.

ANOTHER IMPORTANT NOTE: Perfect Consignor status will be lost if an item missing pieces or not in perfect working order is consigned. Please include batteries and test everything while preparing items for the sale.

REMEMBER: Perfect Consignor status is earned each sale. Spend extra time inspecting items at home so that you continue to earn your perfect status each event!

Valet Tagging

Do you have more "stuff" than time? Consider our Valet Tagging service.

Here's how it works:
1.  Register and get a consignor #
2.  Fill out the Google Form HERE
3.  Drop off your seasonally appropriate clothing items on hangers as well as your other "stuff" like toys, baby gear, games, books, puzzles and whatever else you can find to your tagger. Provide this completed waiver to your tagger.
4. Your tagger will price, store, bring items to the sale, and place items on to the sales floor. Pick up of unsold items is the responsibility of each consignor.
 

In order to quaify, you must answer "YES" to these 2 questions:

  •     Do you have at least 50 items?
  •     Are 80% of your items name brand?
        (Less than 20% of your items are from Target/Walmart.)

If you fit the bill, complete this form and a Valet Tagger will contact you. You will earn 45% of the sale price of your items less a $10 fee. If you help at the event for one 4-hour shift, you will earn 50% less the same $10 fee. We'll also give you presale passes for you and a guest which will be held at the door with our greeter.

Hello, I'm Kathy and I organize the JBF sale in Norman as well as OKC and Edmond. I started this event in my living room 22 years ago, since that time we have helped thousands of families just like you clean up and cash in with JBF.

As a mom, I get it!  Raising kids on a budget is tough - not to mention they grow out of things so fast.  That's why we created a community event where local families can sell the items their kids no longer use, and restock their closets each season! It's a win-win and why I love JBF...I know you will too!
